Feeling tested
Knowing the answer
Its different this time
The answer's wrong
Is it fair?
Fearing the worst
Charging forward
Headlong into disaster
I'll plunge into the darkness for you
Are you even there?

Back to the Mines

So starts another season at the studio.  8am I'm helping Rene and Ashley train new hires for customer service.  The bane of my existence.  I left customer service for a reason; it also happens to be the reason why I hate customers at the store.

"People are stupid"

No matter how many times one repeats one's self, things will never sink in.  Its irritating and this trait of the parents passes on to the child which makes them a family of douche bags.

Well Kelbi comes home tomorrow.  That's a plus.  =D

Then I get to jet back to the studio for the meeting of the photographer leads.  Something else I'm not looking forward to.  People just don't take me seriously except for veterans and the only new hire of last season, Noel.  Just because I'm about 10 years younger than them or don't have a paper that says 'I was brainwashed into photographing like someone else'.  Its irritating and I'm looking forward to being hands off since the second week will be conducted by a trainer sent by corporate.

HT is gonna start training me for Key Holder, officially.  I've been the 'you're a key holder without the title' for about 2 months.  Sounds an awful lot like when the studio gave me a key but didn't give me the lead role but put me as the only veteran for a majority of the morning shifts.

One of the main reasons I'm glad that I'm moving in 2009:  I get to leave all this hypocrisy behind.

Life Moving Along

Life is moving nicely. Work at the studio is about to start up again on Monday, which is also the day Kelbi comes back. =D I'm really excited! Anyway Hot Topic's President stopped by today and was impressed with the store. She said I write like a girl, in the nicest way possible.
"Did you write out those boards Robin?"
"No, Sheldon did."
"He's a guy..."
"Yes, he was in student council, he had to write nice for the girls to read his notes"

As true as that is, it would have been nice to have gotten a different comment. LoL Well either way it doesn't matter. Fricken hilarious.

Haven't gotten word back from UW yet. Hoping to get something soon! Debt free, except for Best Buy. I just bought a lens to celebrate being debt free...not the smartest move but I'm getting a new lens! Yay! Hopefully it comes in before the 27th because I'm not looking foward to getting my new gadget and having it sit around as I train new hires. No offense new hires, I'd rather be doing things for myself and have someone else train you. Simply because...I hate training people.

HA!

Back for More Punishment

I think I'm jumping back in to the dating scene with a target in mind.  Well, I've been targeted for a while too.  With all the tension between us something was bound to happen.   I'm really excited.  Life seems to be flowing back to how I want it to go.  All except the college information I need from UW.  Other than that I feel that I'm bouncing back into the fight ready to take on more punches.  Optimistic attitude yeah?  I think its about time I had that.

Can't wait till she gets back.

Great Day!

Wow tonight was a great night. Son of Rambow is a greatly awesome film. Yes greatly awesome. Saw Craig and his crew (they sat in front of us, which was really cool) and before the movie we were talking about upcoming movies. Iron Man 2, Captain America, The Avengers, and Captain Planet. Yes, Captain Planet is getting a movie and we said that the person to play Planet should be Billy Ray Cyrus. Wouldn't it be hilarious to see a super mullet on the former country "achy breaky" superstar? Not only is he riding on his daughter's coat tails to try to win back his stardom but he'd humiliate her at the same time!

Anyway, Kelbi and I had a great time. Sushi before we headed to Ward (which is something we haven't done in a while), an awesome drive into town, Son of Rambow, and then Ice cream! That dude who served us was pretty awesome. Singing as soon as we came in! Then he was quoting the Family Guy episode with KISS in it (cuz I was wearing my KISS Army shirt) and the other server got involved too! Ukininam! I was so surprised! Ha ha, I only leave tips there if I have a nice conversation but that was too good. I gave a larger than normal tip for those guys, they rock!

Anyway after that I dropped Kelbi off and headed to Melissa's house to see how her desk is coming along. I started it yesterday with a new coat of spray paint and decorating an entire side. Needless to say...my arm is still sore from all the movement. LOL Looks great though. We ended up watching Little Shop of Horrors till 1am as her cats went nuts and attacked each other.

Tomorrow I'm supposed to head in around 10 to the art room and meet up with a few classmates. I'm not even sure if they remember that they're supposed to meet me. Anyway I'm heading to Melissa's first because Clarissa and Av-ster will be there helping decorate the rest of Melissa's desk. Regardless, I'm gonna stay up till 8 to drop Kyle off at LCC for his last final and then head to Melissa's. If anything I'll go to LCC after and see if my classmates are there. If not I'll just pick up my portfolio and head back home or to Melissa's to sleep.

From the Retail

So a quick blog about the retail world. Really just two things that piss me off

First and foremost. The shirts are on the wall. Really. They're displayed for a reason. The shirts in the baskets below look exactly like the one on the wall. There is no need to unfold every single one to "look for a difference". If there was we'd be smart enough to display it for you.

Remember, if you work somewhere in the mall you hate that as much as I do. Don't do it to other stores. I'm sure you wouldn't like it if I waltzed in and ruined half of your store after you spent an hour folding it down.

Blah blah blah. I could go on but I'm tired. Good night and next time you go into a store, be kind. If you unfold a shirt, fold it back like you would your own. Its not that friggen hard.

My Friends are Better Than Yours

Great Semester

This Spring semester was the best semester I've had in college to date.  It was full of good reading, humorous lectures, and great artwork.  I'm looking forward to completing my A.A. next semester.  Unfortunately the commencement ceremony only takes place in the spring.  I could have walked the stage and took the other two classes in the fall, but I wouldn't have felt right.  Anyway I think if I fully apply myself in college without worrying about money (which means scholarships or student loans) I'll be better off.  Ah, but gotta wait and see if I get accepted first.

Here's some pictures from the last day of Printmaking Spring 2008.

I Shall Return!

So today was my last day at the zoo; for now.  It wasn't that bad. Weeded out the Keiki Zoo garden and brushed Lani Moo.  Nothing out of the ordinary until 3-ish.  Oki, one of the head guys in the zoo, took me on a super behind the scenes of the African Safari and Reptile House.

The Reptile House was awesome.  Got to see the komodo dragons and the Seychelles Day Gecko (which are the illegal ones loose in Manoa).  Petting the galapagos tortoise, Toby, was like petting a leather purse.  It was funny being one of two guys standing in the middle of the inclosure while all the visitors stared.

Feeding Kruger was fun.  The guy an eat whole apples and fart like there's no tomorrow, sounds like my dad....ooo burn! Ha ha.  Even the giraffes came by and ate from us.  It was pretty cool.

Reading back on this I feel like a little kid telling his parents about his day at the zoo, but you know that's exactly what it was.

I'll be returning to the zoo around November.  Hopefully by then I'll know which college has accepted me and thing in life will be rolling a little bit smoother.

To a New Beginning

Well here's to the start of Blogspot.  Finals are almost over. There's just one more left for me.  History 152 at 7am on Monday.  Its not too bad considering how much we covered, as well as how little we covered since Fujita wanders off.

American Literature ended well.  My argument was weak, taking the easy way out is, well easy.  Ha!  I'm confident I'll pass with a high enough grade to make myself happy.  I did well on all the other papers as well as the midterm.  If I needed another Writing Intensive class I would have taken Mrs. Lum's Film and Literature class, but I want/need to get out already!

Digital Photography was probably the only class where I had the least connection.  Mr. Muromoto became friendly to me only towards the end, but Jane was always there. Think she's going to Korea.  Hope she keeps photographing and painting so I can brag that I went to college with her when she's famous.

Printmaking ended well.  The class I love the most had a nostalgic feeling as everyone left.  We took pictures (which I have to resize), tried to hook up Rockband to a projector and failed due to the lack of audio (shucks).  Felt nostalgic since we got to see all of our work from the start of the class all the way until the end.  There were even a few surprise prints where we asked, "when did you do that?"

Joined the Printmakers club.  Now I can go in over the summer and work in the art room!  Can't wait.  Well its late and tomorrow is my last day at the zoo.  Need to start concentrating on applying to schools (UW still hasn't sent me my stuff) plus scholarship essays.  Well check back often!
